Mr. Owen Kose assumed the role of Chairman on January 1, 2023, bringing a wealth of expertise to Papua Finance Limited. A Certified Public Accountant in PNG, he holds a Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from UPNG. Mr. Kose’s illustrious career commenced in 1996 when he began as a Graduate Accountant at the Auditor General’s Office, and he steadily rose through the ranks to become a Senior Auditor by 2005. From 2005 to 2012, he served as a Senior Analyst at BPNG, gaining valuable insights into the intricate aspects of financial institutions and their impact on the nation’s economy. In 2013, Mr. Kose returned to the Auditor General’s Office, where he managed Human Resources and Training and Development until 2015. As a qualified accountant, in 2017, he briefly served as a Manager for Risk Programming and Internal Audit at the Tax Office (IRC). Following his tenure at IRC, he took on the role of General Manager for Business Development at Gulf Investment Trust Fund. Since 2020, he has been the General Manager for Gulf Papua Energy Ltd, overseeing business functions and strategic development for Papua LNG, PASCA, and other forthcoming oil and gas projects in the region. Mr. Kose’s extensive and diverse experience, spanning public and private sectors, offers a unique perspective on shaping business strategies at Papua Finance.
